Yours And My Part As A Member Of Humanity And Creation

What follows below is a copy of a comment I made. I want to repeat it here and add to the concept first.

When we are in a dying process then we find out maybe what is most important, not only to us as individuals through our memories and special thoughts, but also as members of humanity.

The context I discovered for myself recently, as I wrote about in the Ardi blog post, is that if I confine myself to the thought process that I am just an individual Strephon, then as I die I will be distorting myself into being only and individual.

  • What in fact seems and is more true is that I am part of a larger whole, the human being responding back to nature and creation he-she finds himself in.

We as humanity consciously represent our own larger personality and being through those we consider spiritual masters.

We are a significant part, each of us who choose to make this conscious at least, of our human time line.

As I thanked Ardi, in the news for being the humanoid branch starting back four million years ago, that Ardi and those who significantly lived their lives that followed kept evolving consciousness and behavior to what is truly human, perhaps at essence: to be truly human is to be a light, a spark of light, of consciousness, a mirror to reflect back Creation on itself.

The Task To Be Mirrors To All Creation

We humans have the task to be mirrors to ourselves and others, and to all creation. Sometimes this is terribly expensive, like flying things and ourselves to different planets and the moon, even wasteful until we get our consciousness priorities right and realistic by balancing space efforts against making planet earth a much better place to live, rather than destroying planet earth technologically, ecologically and with the constant violence and wars of today.

Sometimes this task is highly personal and dangerous, as in dealing with ones own tendencies to do violence and hurt, such as in taking revenge during and after a relationship breakup, or going off to war and killing people, or neglecting ones body and psyche. What for, really? Integrate! Handle the Dark Side in yourself and others. Live and let live. Support all humanity. Don’t cut off part of humanity and try and kill them and win dominance over them.

We are all one humanity.

Say this over and over until you truly get it and modify your behavior to be a member of the whole human race. Okay? Said in love but also in deep questioning if you have taken to being a soldier in your young adult years. What for? To feed the egos of older men who are your generals, your presidents, your leaders?

I in my present creation.

So with I in my present creation, as well as other significant people spiritually and creatively, and I have known a few thankfully, I have been blessed with faculties and functions developed in a long time line by those who have come before me but after Ardi.

Thus when I die I die individually, yet not die as part of the greater ‘humanity being’ that responds to the Greater Cosmos and to contemporary happenings through self and other awareness, one of my definitions of consciousness.

This perspective gives me great comfort.

The encounters with significant people, not just the biggies but people like myself living the journey and their real selves, these are what I seem to be remembering in my contemplative moods now and when I am stopped to rest and deal with a cancer symptom.

While millions choose to see themselves in their dying process as a member of what a religion or philosophy says is their afterlife, including no afterlife, upon current reflection the perspective here stated seems to be the most real and comforting view for me right now in my own ‘leaving the world’ process, if this leaving is what is happening to me now.

Copy Of The Strephon Jeremy Ardi Comments That Adds To The Concept

Jeremy: Ah, that’s a great teaching. To be able to conceive of yourself as a product of millions of lives before you and not just a single line of mothers and fathers mating bearing a child, that child growing up, experiencing, learning and then mating and passing on the evolving genes, but rather a vast tree of inter-marriages all contributing at each generation to you until very likely you are related at various points to most everyone yet with your own special singular mix of genes – that you are the product of continuing humanity and that something of you will continue as you described – that is as difficult to conceive of as the number of stars and galaxies out in space. Ah, the vastness of which we are a part – from within and without – if one could really know that – not just as an idea or theory but really through the vastness of a mind transcending ego completely and becoming it all – if you could imagine your self back to the copulating and experiencing mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish, cellular plant–animals, water, minerals, then stardust, the stuff that stars are made of as far back as it goes – then that one taking it all in in one grasp of mind would be my conception of a Buddha – with a mind so stretched what would life be? What would death be? When one sees oneself as part of the grand design, plan, or chance creation, both tiny and very grand to the utmost, what transformation takes place in the psyche/body? I can’t do it – yet, but just writing this I have gone more far than before – so we must nudge ourselves forward.

With Joy,

Jeremy

Strephon: Beautiful and right on for me also, Jeremy. You have added to the concept that special teachers made of life stuff with added spiritual stuff do represent for us and the cosmos our response back to nature and the cosmos, and Source, that we are becoming fully what we are. That is human, individually and as humanity.

So as I die I am a living part of these great figure heads, Buddha, the real wisdom Jesus, the Zen Masters, Lao Su, the wonderful Hasids whose stories Elie Wiesel collected and published years ago that I loved, as well as Zen master stories.

I myself am almost nothing, and I tried never to be that public because of all the work it takes. I worked with clients and students, but only to a limited number that I could go deep with. That’s okay with me. I never wanted followers but I did want companionship with others on the Journey also. And look, it is still happening with you and others, like here!

While I was not really a public person, remember how I responded fully to Ellie, your dream daughter, and to you at the IASD conference? I remember all that fondly, and that is my style.

Of course I go for the highly intelligent and creative ones because that is my way also and I relate through understanding as well as connecting purposefully.
