Spiritual Aikido Strephon Demos Flowing Sword Principle In Action
The principle of living your life from realistic and effective life principles shows how to be effective, purposeful and have serious fun in life.
Here Strephon demos sword techniques he learned and modified to show the principle: go with things, not usually against them.
You will note that the current United States forces in Afghanistan Oct 9 2009 are becoming demoralized: why are we fighting, they ask? What are we fighting for? Many soldiers want out and home to their families.
They are supposed to hold territory, yet get roadside bombed and shot at, but can’t find the enemy usually to shoot back.
The US forces use the principle of attack or dominate the opposition to solve the problem of whose style and will wins. This takes energy and lives. Little is gained in Afghanistan.
The enemy practices the principle of ‘going with what is happening‘ to better absorb the negative energy of the Americans, British and European soldiers. They hide out behind big boulders, in caves and village houses.
A martial art can be deadly but it is also sports practice. The best martial arts trainings demonstrate with ones body practice fundamental life principles.
- Strephon demos with his practice sword the principle of ‘go with things, not against them.’
Spiritual Aikido is training oneself and others in the principles behind the martial arts actions as well as the physical skills that go with the actions so that principles can be cross transfered to other life activities such as at work or in personal relationship.
In this two minute video Strephon demonstrates the ‘going with the flow principle.’ If you watch it more than once you absorb it more maybe.
You can find videos of far superior swordsmen in skills, but these also have mixed motions and principles at work. taking extra strength, as well as energy-waste, however admirable they seem to be.
This form of sword work depends on feeling the balance and motion of the blade so you feel as one in body and spirit with the sword is also go spiritual and physical exercise if you have the space.
You can do it alone, as I used to until six months ago when I had to deal with the cancer. There is also Spiritual Aikido stick work that I used to teach to my groups for the physical breaks and teaching principles. We have a Romanian students video up on YouTube.
We stress again: you are not trying to become really good in skills, as in most Aikido schools. This is great to see and do also. But for a Spiritual Aikido school you focus to clarify and use Principles that apply to many Life Situations, and not just dojo martial arts.
