There Is No Time – Only Matter And Space
This concept I got from reading Henri Bergson, the French philosopher, as a teenager.
Let’s say, you flew from Boston to Chicago. We have all done that, haven’t we? We may use different names for locations of Departure and Arrival, but the point is that we have gone pretty quickly from one place to another.
If we can do this in one direction, why then can’t we also ‘time-fly’ back in time and space and arrive where we started after we have departed?
I fly to Boston from Chicago just the same way that I have flown from Boston to Chicago?
Time is space occupied by matter. Yes, even light is matter, has weight, does respond to the pull of gravity, which is what weight is.
We can of course buy a round trip ticket from Boston to Chicago and back, except in plane flight we never go back, we always go forward.
Yes, according to our bodies and existence, existence is always moving forward and can never go in reverse! Do we understand this? Do I understand this?
We cannot go backwards in time because all existent things move in only one direction, and that is forward.
This universe of ours is an expanding universe. The movement is always outward from an epicenter called the big bang.
Scientists do postulate that there are black holes made up of matter compacted so densely by gravity that no matter, no light escapes these holes.
Does time escape these holes?
Does time, as a sequence of separate space occupations by matter, cease to exist in a black hole?
By inference and definition time no longer exists since there is no separate space for matter to occupy. All matter held by gravity in a black hole occupies the same space. Matter in a black hole does not move outward in a trajectory, a direction.
Again, we cannot seek a former existence in a black hole where the space and objects of the past have been condensed into each other and cannot move away from their mutual center.
The more matter unable to escape a black hole the greater the density and weight of what is in the black hole, and the greater the gravity generated from that black hole.
Thus, the greater the density-weight of a black hole the greater its ability to attract more matter to its dense center and thus the greater the gravity it acquires to attract even more matter.
Eventually black holes absorb their galaxies and are the fulcrum points or gravitational centers that form these galaxies in the first place through attracting all matter within their gravitational ranges.
Is there also a counter movement generated?
Do black holes become so dense from gravitational attraction from which nothing escapes that such density becomes too great and such dense matter explodes outward again creating another galaxy or even universe?
The contracting and expanding universe?
Or must a new universe await existence in a big bang again only to happen when all black holes, galaxies and universes are absorbed into a super black hole?
Thus we cannot fly back in time to experience again our existences in childhood. We cannot visit even last night’s lover, or last year’s lover.
Are you and I aware of this as we make our connections in existence now?
Following such a realistic philosophic view we cannot even be betrayed or betray another, as in sexual intercourse with someone outside our core relationship.
On one night you make love with someone, the next day at noon with someone else. Are you betraying anybody through your acts?
Since existence moves only in one direction you have betrayed no one and no experience. Your existence is always forward. Nothing you did yesterday or last year determines what you should do right now in your life.
All existence is forward movement. What you do now, like planets and suns, is in the direction of new manifestation only. There is no return to the past of anything. The old movies are only images made once in present time capturing not that existence but only images made of that existence.
Are we not better off, then, not to be dwelling on the past, trying to live from past declarations, agreements, promises, images?
When a person dies there is no existence of that person to interconnect with, is there?
All existence is forward movement.
Thus even the dying person cannot die, and is only dead. The body without life is dead matter not existing as an existent interactant in present time.
The Hindu’s burn the body once the life has gone out of it. A Hindu living permanently in England is petitioning to have an open fire funeral in which his body is traditionally burned as in his former India. Will the residents occupying space England grant his wish?
What is the right of the living to occupy a certain space while living and while dead?
The speaker of the House of Commons is trying to hold onto his chair, his place, in the government, though he has done improprieties apparently, and many now want to get rid of him.
The living like to hold onto the places where they most exist.
Without a place in matter to occupy it seems we do not exist.
But I got my round trip ticket, you complain. I have a right to go back!
Did you not realize, says the ticket granter, that all tickets are one way trips from the present to the future, from the present space you occupy to the next new space you will occupy if granted the right to do so?
When I first came to England for teaching dreamwork psychology I came in and out of the country several times. Customs officials finally said to me, hey, wait, you can’t keep doing this. You need a residence visa. They let me stay temporarily since I had an apartment and teaching duties set up, but I also applied for and got a four year residence visa to live and teach in Britain.
I was granted the right to occupy quite a bit of space on this earth with the people all speaking English.
We move forward always in time. Existence is always occupying one space with our matter, our bodies and objects, and then moving this matter, ourselves to a next and new space we have found and gained the right to occupy, or co-occupy.
I realized as a young adult lover that it became important that when I met someone attractive to me that I gain access through invitation to her apartment and her bedroom if I was serious about a relationship with her.
The sex was nice but the real negotiation is the negotiation to occupy the same space together. Basic physics really.
Enjoy the ride!
