Identity Issues-And Life?

Identity Issues – And Life? – Key Questions
How is identity tied to life? How does our identity determine our lives?
How do we use our time each day?
How do we use our time when we are older and no longer have the drive to achieve in life?
Aging Identity
At age 74 I have mostly myself to keep evaluating in terms of a human being living life.
Loss – I no long have around a hundred people that I work intensely with as a guide for their current lives, so my information processing functions are not as active.
In those earlier days of being a traveling psychologist-teacher in Britain, Norway and the Netherlands, I had much of other people’s stuff to process.
This was the major purpose to drive me each day. I was committed to professional excellence in helping all these people who had committed to a major training with me during the year in period 1989-1991. Afterward I cut down to around 35 people to keep track of in training with me for the year or longer.

i have similar concerns and similar motivations
and as we are still alive and kicking it is not too late to realize
a deeper potential and expand our skills. My children have taught me
how undereducated i have been – both of them have mastered concepts in
physics and algebra that I never have, and with their brains being to
grasp and retain at such a tender age they have so very far to go.
They both have very good sense and strong personalities. So I open my
ears and eyes and heart to them as teachers, too. I am sitting here in
South Korea. Two people have called today. One a 50 year old woman who
is half Blackfoot and half Iroquois, and another who is a 40 year old
translator of a book on Alchemy and Jung, as well as partly my own.
Otherwise I have met noone other than Eloisia and her mother. The days
slip by swiftly and I am working on something to leave behind, or to
show value for having lived on this planet – and not simply collected
stamps. Indeed, I have felt that is just what I have done, and now am
pointed in a more valuable direction. This flucuates hourly. I am
talking to you but also the author of a book I am reading called, The
Body Electric. And that connects with a dream I had in India, which
in turn has become a healing meditation I do. Just lay still in the
morning and silently recite I Sing My Body Electric and feel it
stimulating your body cells and bones to live again. It is also the
title of a Whitman poem and an album and song by a Norweigen Rock
Group. So we
turn a circle back to your father and your own days in Norway.
Ellie is practicing French outloud downstairs – she has been reading
two books she checked out on how to study better. This keeps me young,
and purposeful. I celebrate your new blog.
Yours,
Jeremy
Thanks Jeremy for joining our blog membership community just starting.
I conceive of us sharing our perspectives in a purposeful way on a regular basis, if we choose to do so when the spirit moves us.
Perspective building and changing according to our circumstances is certainly one value I plan to uphold.
The lesson I get reinforced from your comment here is to acknowledge those we relate to and to support them in it. But also to take what their growth energy evokes in us and also find our sources of new learning from within ourselves, by for one thing developing a fuller awareness of ourselves and life meeting the challenges of our present stage of life.
This I certainly am doing with my own present life, realizing that I am nothing now, not my past, not my future, but what of life and meaning I can live each day now.
Always, what is it I choose to do with my day today, always today?
I search daily for where the spark flies, what ignites the candle of daily consciousness.
